Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia. ~E.L. Doctorow

The first question that must be answered is why do a blog at all? The answer here is simple, to begin a dialog with scouters throughout the world, and extend my own scouting contacts. I have been active in Boy Scouts for the last 31 years, and I believe at its heart is the best program for young men in America. As with all organizations it has its issues, but I believe so strong in it that I have encouraged my son to become involved.

So how will this blog progress, it is simple. As part of the program for BSA our troop (Troop 228) organizes and participates in a camp out per month. I have become the unofficial photographer of that event. Each month I will put up one of the photos of the event and give information about the successes or failures of it. I would love to hear feedback.

On occasion I will also be posting about events effecting our program or the national program. I would also love to hear responses from everyone on those.

In closing I hope the blog is enjoyed and perhaps we can all learn something from each other.
